Laminate plate sticking
« on: August 20, 2014, 03:27:48 pm »
I recently bought the 2- 3/8" Crappie Slab mold and laminate plate from Jacobs Baits.      After multiple pours with the laminate plate, baits started to pull out of their cavities a little bit when taking off the plate.  These baits taper to nothing at their tails, that is where my problem is happening .  Can anyone help me out with some pointers ?     It's near impossible to get  the tail sections back in their cavities perfectly aligned .

Lightly sanding the laminate plate face with fine Scotch-Brite may help. It will smooth out the micro tooling marks. Wiping the face with worm oil would stop the baits from sticking. But the plastic would not adhere well.

Rick, Thank you for the advice. I'm  a newbie at pouring injection molds.
I really like this injecting process, it was a real pain in the butt hand  pouring multi-colored baits in the past.     I'm very happy with the results, thanks again.
