1 1/2 to 2 in crappie tube 3/16-1/4 oz mold?
« on: June 19, 2016, 08:46:16 am »
Looking for a jighead mold that will fit inside a 1 1/2 in to 2 in crappie tube.3/16-1/4 oz. Any suggestions.Have tried modifying some tube jig molds. We currently us 1/8 oz would like a heaver jig head 3/16 -1/4 oz.Can use a heaver jig head on the outside of tube but gets hung up easier"not as weedless. Can use a round head but tears tube while inserting. Thanks

3/16 and 1/4 oz. lead jigs will not fit into small 1 1/2" and 2" tube baits and even if you you could squeeze them in, it would expand and distort the shape of the tube bait into something larger than the original size.

Right. Was thinking of modifying or making a mold like a tube jig mold 1/8 oz.Same dia but a little longer that would be 3/16 or 1/4 oz.  Would that be possible. We fish a deep clear lake and use inside tube jigs because they slide through the brush better than a jighead on the outside even with a weed guard. Thanks Rick. Know its a dumb Idea. But have several fishermen interested. We have your tube jig molds they shoot and work great. You have some very well built mold's.Thanks Jack's Jig's.

We have used" tungsten jig heads" that are pretty close to 3/16 and 1/4 oz and will fit inside the tubes. These and a small worm slip sinker pegged out side the tube with great success but are to costly. We are jigging brush piles in 20-25 ft of clear water.Really like your Spin jig molds great design. Thanks  Jack.

I have molds that fit inside that are 1/32-1/16-1/8-3/16-1/4...poured without the guard you can rig from the side or in through the bottom...weedless has to go through the side of the tube body...
